GIS map server is used in the SABR product search request form
to select the search probe and to display the product data coverage.
Basic functionality of the map server includes:
- Centered zoom of the map using the buttons "zoom in"
and
"zoom out" .
- Fit of the selected rectangular region to the map window.
Region to fit is selected with the map applet toolbar "lens". The new
map is ordered by the click on the button "to rectangle"
.
- Recenter the map according to the new center location
selected by user. The new center on the map is selected with the map
applet toolbar "lens"
. The new map is ordered by the click on the button
"recenter" .
- Move the map in any of the 8 main geographic directions
(north, south, etc.) by 1/3 of the window size. The new map is ordered
by the click on the correspoding direction arrow on the map applet
margins.
- Zoom the map back to the original size preserving the
selected map layers using the button "to global"
.
- Overlay the default map with user selected layers. The
layers are selected and unseleceted using checkboxes in the "Legend"
region.The level of layer details is related to the zoom level of the
map.
- Reset the map to initial state with the "reset" button
.
On the margins of the map applet always are displayed:
- Lat/lon coordinates of the cursor location
- The map extent as lat/lon coordinates of the upper left
(North-West) and the lower right (South-East) corners of the map window.
- Map applet toolbur state, may be either "selection"
for
search probe selection and "lens" for map server zoom and center
functions.
The map scale is displayed below the map applet. The visible
zoom region is overlayed over the original size map on the reference
window below the map legend.
