DMSP mosaics viewer and search form has two windows: mosaic
image viewer and GIS map.
Initially, the most recent infrared combined satellites mosaic is
loaded into the mosaic viewer, and the same extent map is loaded into
the GIS window. The MOSAIC menu to the left from the GIS window is used
to switch between different regional mosaic products
To search for other mosaics, the user has to:
- define a satellite in the "DMSP satellite" section;
- select a sensor channel using radio button in the "Channel"
section;
- select an orbit type (day-time
, night-time or any ) in the
"Type" section ;
- define the mosaic creation date and time (UTC) in the "Time
navigator" section.
The new image will be loaded into the mosaic viewer window with the new
metadata display after the click on the "Search data" button in the
"Time navigator" section.
The most recent mosaic for the current satellite / channel / orbit type
settings may be displayed after the click on the "Most recent" button in
the "Time navigator" section.
The "Zoom" button opens a new window with the full-scale mosaic image
preview.
The "Orbits" button in the DMSP section opens a new window with the
DMSP orbits viewer passing above a probe on the map in the time range of
the displayed mosaic .
The "Metadata" window shows text from the DMSP mosaic metadata fields.
Details on the map server functions in the GIS window may be found here.
Details on the collaboration between the mosaic viewer and the map
server window selection objects may be found here.
The "Basket" section has a toolbar to work with the SABR shopping
basket:
- the button "Add full mosaic to basket" adds the full
displayed mosaic for the current date-time / satellite / channel / orbit
type settings to the SABR shopping basket
;
- the button "Add subregion" adds a selected subregion on the
displayed mosaic for the current date-time / satellite / channel / orbit
type settings to the SABR shopping basket
;
- the button "Clear basket" deletes all the mosaic products
previously added to the shopping basket
;
- the button "View basket" opens a new web browser window
with the shopping basket contents
.
The text in the metadata window may be edited (commented) by user
before the displayed mosaic will be edited to the shopping basket, in
that case the modified metdata will be stored in the user session and
displayed later in the shopping basket contents form and the data order
status reports.
