The basic functionality of SABR includes:

• interactive search of images and data products for a given location, time range, orbit type, sensor, and resolution;
• interactive plots of satellite coverage for the given time range, orbit type, sensor and resolution;
• animated browsing of temporal sequences of preview images ("VCR controls");
• animated navigation with preview images over satellite orbits ("joystick");
• interactive maps with overlaid GIS data and satellite data products;
• open GIS consortium (OGC) web map server (WMS) interface to satellite data products;
• interactive plots of satellite telemetry for the given satellites, time range, sampling, and set of sensors with simultaneous time axis zoom over all the plots on the web page and publication quality printing;
• interactive parallel mining of environmental databases and satellite archives for "events" at a given location for possibly seasonal time range and event duration ("fuzzy search engine");
• management of the user "shopping basket" with metadata and preview for every ordered item;
• asynchronous data order processing with e-mail notification of the order results.
